Autocross and Time Attack Series

Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is excited to host the 2025 AXS Autocross Series & Time Attack season. The series will feature four events from March to July, offering drivers a unique opportunity to test their skills in a competitive and exhilarating environment.

Autocross Overview

Autocross is a high-intensity, timed driving event that tests your skills on a cone course. With classes based on the Pounds & Ponies (P&P) system, drivers compete against the clock in a fun and competitive environment.

Classification System
Classes are determined by the weight and power of your car (P&P System):

  • Street: Road-legal cars with OEM tire sizes and street tires (minimum UTQG Treadwear Grade of 200).
  • Outlaw: Modified vehicles without restrictions on tires or powertrain.
  • Electric Vehicles (EV): Separate EV classes for Street and Outlaw, added if 5+ EVs register.

Sub-Classes

  • Street Light: Over 2,000lbs, under 225whp, street tire.
  • Street Muscle: Over 2,800lbs, under 475whp, street tire.
  • Street EV: All-electric vehicles, street tire.
  • Outlaw: Everyone else.

Track Setup and Penalties
Autocross events take place on the Thunder Loop portion of the main track. Drivers will get three back-to-back runs in their group, with penalties (1-2 seconds) applied for knocked-over cones. The top six runs are scored, with open course runs available after scoring is completed.

Time Attack Overview

Time Attack is a non-wheel-to-wheel competition where drivers aim to set the fastest lap times on AMP’s world-class track. This event allows drivers to compete against themselves and others while earning a spot on the AMP Top Times Leaderboard.

Track Layouts

  • Morning Session: 1.18-mile short course using the Turn 10 cut-through.
  • Afternoon Session: Full 1.81-mile track.

Competition Details

  • Each participant will get one 10-minute open lapping session on both layouts.
  • The fastest lap from each session will count towards the competition.
  • Passing is permitted with a point-by system only, ensuring a safe and strategic experience.
