As a new year dawns for Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP), it’s time to reflect on the achievements and milestones that made 2023 a standout year. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of North Georgia, AMP is more than just a racetrack; it’s a haven for motorsports enthusiasts, and it’s clear that 2023 was a year of tremendous growth, innovation, and exhilarating racing experiences.

Facility Upgrades & Enhancements: Elevating the AMP Experience

During 2023, AMP launched some incredible facility upgrades and enhancements. Highlights included:

  • New Trackside Members Lounge: The introduction of the exclusive and ultra high end Trackside Members Lounge and Bar provided a new VIP space for members to unwind and soak in the racing action.
  • New VIP Sky Deck: Hovering 26 feet above the race track’s edge, you’ll experience the exhilarating rush of wind as race cars whiz by below. With a spacious capacity accommodating up to 300 people, this unique vantage point offers a panoramic, bird’s-eye perspective of all the thrilling racing action, delivering unmatched views of nearly 70% of the track.
  • Trackside Condos Phase 1, 2 and 3 Completed: The first three (3) phases of AMP’s trackside Condo development were completed, giving AMP members the chance to enjoy their car, bike, collection and accommodations. We started permitting on phase four (4) of 46 3 story tall Trackside Villas that will flank the debris fence from turn 3 to turn 6. 
  • New EV Supercharging and Level 2 Stations: AMP embraced the future with the installation of Ten (10) DC Level 3 and Eight (8) Level 2 Electric Vehicle charging stations, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and to promote EV Racing at Atlanta Motorsports Park.
  • Solar Grant Awarded: AMP received a solar grant to help offset the install of a 358.60 KW Solar Panel System on the roofs of the conference center, kart clubhouse and the garages of the complex. This will offset 65% of the power usage on site as a commitment to AMP’s impact on the environment. Since the first day opening, we have had a commitment to reduce our impact with a solar powered entrance sign, CCTV and lighting, water fixtures, recycled guard rail, asphalt, waterless and low water urinals and toilets. 
  • New Simulator Room: For those looking to sharpen their skills, the state-of-the-art 10 Unit Simulator Room became a hub for virtual racing enthusiasts, team building and corporate events to fine-tune their abilities.
  • Expanded with a new 1.5 Acre Parking at Kart Track: The explosive growth of the kart racing series and kart track has demanded additional parking, we expanded with 1.5 acres additional parking. 
  • Upgraded Landscaping Facility-wide: The entire facility received a facelift with upgraded landscaping. Each year we are focusing on elevating the landscaping of the entire complex. 
  • Installed Condo ‘Owner’s Club’ Signage: Personalization was taken to the next level with the installation of condo unit numbers, adding a touch of exclusivity.
  • Installed Two Illuminated Signs on the 3 Condo Phases (Senna and Vettel): Paying homage to racing legends, illuminated signs graced condo phases, adding an elegant touch.
  • New Concrete Surface and German Evertz Hydrotechnik Sprinkler Heads Installed on Skidpad and 7.5 degree Ice Hill: We invested into replacing the asphalt and the sprinkler heads to match only two other complexes in NA, the two Porsche experience centers with this advanced technology that covers the surface exceptionally well. When we replaced the asphalt with the concrete, we added a second smaller circle to complete the ability to do a figure eight on the skid pad section. 
  • RaceAmerica F1 Start Light Installed on Main Track Start Finish: Cutting-edge technology made its mark with the installation of an F1-style start light on the main track.
  • Sealcoating Asphalt (Facility-wide): Preserving the quality of the asphalt surfaces, but most importantly the optics keeping the image of all areas to a higher standard. 
  • Created New Pit Side Meeting Center: We created a new Pit side meeting room with a true F1 Gantry, two large screen TV’s for clients and events to be directly next to the hot pits for convenience. 
  • Hired Director of Motorsports/Racing from Porsche: To elevate our member experience and the racing series we hired a new director of motorsports from Porsche NA. The goal is to grow and elevate the member experience and racing experience. 
  • Expanded kart parts and service with AMP KartWerks: This expansion led to nearly 4x the revenue in this vertical over less than two years. Ultimately giving the members and clients the ability to have nearly every part available to them to keep the racing experience happening.
  • South Paddock Fitted with Three Removable Sprinkler Heads to Stimulate Wet Asphalt Conditions: Based on demand and sold out bookings, versatility was introduced to the South Paddock, allowing for wet asphalt conditions to be simulated.
  • Elevated AMP Kart Racing’s Rental Mechanic Shop: Completely redesigned and elevated the rental kart shop to be more like an F1 shop to ensure exceptional serving of the rental karts.
  • Fuel Cafe and Bar: Purchased Equipment and started permitting and construction of our new restaurant Fuel Cafe and Bar. This will service the entire complex with delivery service to the garages, condos, and both clubhouses. 
  • All Parking Lot Lines and Stencils Repainted: Attention to detail was paramount, with repainted parking lot lines and stencils ensuring a polished look.
  • Main Track Curbing Repainted with Glass Bead Added: Safety and performance were boosted on the main track with upgraded curbing featuring glass bead for enhanced grip.
  • Exhaust Fans Added to Kart Track Pit Lane: Enhanced air circulation in the kart track pit lane added comfort for racers and staff.
  • Re-sodded All Apex Ruts and Holes: Apex areas received a fresh lease of life with meticulous re-sodding.

New Services: Expanding the Horizon of Experiences

AMP didn’t just focus on infrastructure; it also introduced new services to cater to the diverse needs of its community:

  • New Autocross and Time Attack Series: Thrilling Autocross and Time Attack series were launched, attracting competitive racers and enthusiasts alike.
  • New Junior eKarts: The next generation of racers had a blast with the introduction of Junior eKarts, nurturing young talents.
  • New AMP Ambulatory Service & IV Bar: AMP prioritized safety and well-being with an on-site Highest Level of Care ALS Ambulatory Service & Octane Wellness IV Therapy 
  • Launched On-site Car Storage (Available to the Public): Car enthusiasts could now conveniently store their prized vehicles on-site, ensuring quick access to the track.

Racing and Event Highlights: Heart-Pounding Action

2023 was not short on heart-pounding action and unforgettable racing moments at AMP:

  • Largest Karting Series in AMP history: A record-breaking 160 drivers gathered for the largest karting series in AMP’s history, the kart count puts AMP in the top three tracks in NA for club race attendance. 
  • Live Race Coverage – AMP’s thrilling racing action was beamed to the world with live coverage, including the monumental Drift HQ 4th of July event, which garnered a staggering 21k views.
  • AMP’d Up Event with Dawson County Sheriff’s Office: The collaboration with the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office resulted in an electrifying community event.
  • All the Big Race Events – AMP played host to prestigious events like NASA SE, Lucky Dog, Gridlife, and ChampCar, solidifying its status as a racing destination of choice.
  • Caffeine & Octane Partnership – The partnership with Caffeine & Octane brought kart racing to Lanier Raceway and an exotic car show to AMP, thrilling car enthusiasts.
  • Racing Prodigy Week: The future of racing was celebrated during Racing Prodigy Week, recognizing young talented e-racers with promising futures in real world motorsports. The landmark event was live streamed to viewers across the world.

Milestones and Achievements: Setting New Standards

AMP achieved several significant milestones and received well-deserved recognition in 2023:

  • 2023 SpeedSport Outstanding Facility of the Year at Performance Racing Industry RaceTrack Owner’s Conference: AMP’s dedication and commitment to excellence were acknowledged with the prestigious 2023 SpeedSport Outstanding Facility of the Year award at the RaceTrack Owner’s Conference.
  • Zoning Approval for Lights and Unlimited Sound Days: AMP secured zoning approval for kart lights, three parking decks, more condos, trackside villas, a second entrance sign, restaurant, unlimited sound days, paving the way for even more exhilarating events and racing experiences.

As we peer into the future of 2024, one thing is certain: Atlanta Motorsports Park will persist as a pioneer in the realm of motorsports. Through its steadfast dedication to groundbreaking advancements, its exceptional state-of-the-art amenities, and its resolute commitment to providing unforgettable experiences for its community, AMP is poised for an exceptional year ahead.


ATLANTA MOTORSPORTS PARK

Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is the first green, sustainable motorsports country club of its kind for high performance cars, motorcycles and karts. In addition to providing a driver’s haven for its members, Atlanta Motorsports Park offers private track rentals, corporate group options as well as the world’s most unique kart track.
