The long arm of the law finally caught up with land speed enthusiast, Ed Bolian, at Atlanta Motorsports Park when Dawson County’s youngest law enforcement officer chased down the VINwiki CEO and founder on the race track’s home straight.

Deputy Sheriff and Deputy Cantrell detain Bolian with backup from Deput Misha (p, Dawson Sheriff’s Office)

The ‘arrest’ was all in good fun and was staged as part of a day of activities awarded to two Dawson County students who earned the right to be ‘Deputy for the Day’ with the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.

Aptly named, 6 year old Conor Sheriff stepped up to the plate with the help of Deputy Blackstock and fellow junior Deputy Misha (11), as they worked together to reenact a good-humored ‘arrest’ of Bolian who was filming a new car review on track at Atlanta Motorsports Park.

It has been 8 1/2 years since Bolian’s infamous cross country Cannonball Run. With an average speed of 98mph and covering a staggering 2800 miles in 28 hours and 50 minutes, Bolian became the outright Cannonball Run record holder (with his co-pilots Dave Black and Dan Huang) in October of 2013. Their highly modified 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG was fitted with extra fuel cells, police scanning equipment, multiple GPS units, and a CB Radio to communicate with their spotters. The record stood for over 5 years until it was finally beaten in 2017.

With his growing business VINwiki, and a YouTube channel with over 1.4 million subscribers, Bolian was charged with having a good time and driving on track with a license!
