Fall has finally arrived! With beautiful scenery, small town charm and high speed thrills, Dawsonville is the perfect destination for an autumn getaway. Here are some of the seasons best attractions and events:
Fausett Farms Sunflowers: Visit Fausett Farms to see rows and rows of beautiful sunflowers and get the perfect family photo. $10 per car / $35 photographers per session. Open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily till flowers expire. They also sell local honey, lotions, soap, lip balm in addition to other home made items.
Burt’s Farm: This adorable farm and country store will become your new fall tradition with it’s pumpkin patch and hay rides. It’s open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and admission is free. Don’t forget to try out their fresh baked goodies including pumpkin pies!
Uncle Shucks Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch: Add “Haunted Corn Maze” to your fall bucket list! Uncle Shucks is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for family fun. Attractions include a haunted corn maze, a corn cannon and a goat walk!
Amicalola Falls State Park: This stunning state park spans across 829 acres and is home to the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Park hours are 7:00 am to 10:00 pm and all cars require a $5 GA State Park Pass. Visitors can camp, hike, zip-line and more!
AMP Kart Racing’s 10-hour Rental Kart Fall Enduro- Think your team is ready to take on 10 hours of karting? AMP is hosting the fall karting enduro on Oct. 21 utilizing a professionally-maintained fleet of Sodi rental karts. No racing experience is required, but prepared to be mentally and physically tested in this lengthy race format!
2017 Racing Radios Legends Championship and Young Lions World Finals- Atlanta Motor Speedway’s 2017 Racing Radios Legends Championship and Young Lions World Finals will return to Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 21.
ChumpCar “The Eastern Chumpionship”- The ChumpCar series returns to AMP on Oct. 28-29 for an exciting weekend of racing on the main road course.
Trunk or treat and Punkin’ Chunkin’ Competition- AMP will be hosting a day of Halloween themed fun including trick or treating during the ChumpCar series on Oct. 28.
50th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival and Car Show (Oct. 27-29): Enjoy a weekend full of events in the heart of Dawsonville at this unique festival! Activies include the Moonshine Run, a parade of authentic moonshine & race cars, vintage race cars car show, a swap meet and live entertainment.
