The staff at AMP is committed to providing an equal opportunity experience for the drivers involved with our karts. Each race week the karts will be inspected and equalized the day before the events.
Class Structure:
Because of the nature of 9hp, 50 mph go karts, weight becomes the determining factor many times where skill is equal. Our drivers will be required to weigh in and receive equalization ballast to be placed on our karts, up to a max ballast of 45lbs. To assist in making sure we have the most equal weights as possible, the AMP Public Karting Series will be split into three classes GT, GT-Heavy and GT-Light. All are for drivers that are 15 years old and older. Those younger than 15 are eligible to run in the GT-Youth class.
GT:
The GT Class will consist of drivers who weigh at least 175lbs with equipment.
GT-Heavy:
The GT-Heavy Class will consist of drivers who weight between 215 and 255lbs with equipment.
GT-Light:
The GT-Light Class will consist of drivers with weights less than 175lbs with equipment.
GT-Youth:
This class will consist of drivers who are younger than 15 years of age, a minimum of 85lbs with equipment, and who have shown relative aptitude to the series stewards of their driving ability.
With three (3) track configurations to choose from, each week will provide a new set of challenges for the drivers. The cost for each race day is $89 or a discounted rate of $400 for the entire spring season. Prizes based on the best 8 finishes in our 10 race series are being developed, and will be posted soon. Only the first twelve drivers in each class will be guaranteed to race in our inaugural season. So get your reservation in now to tj@100mphlunch.com. A down payment of $25 / race is required with your reservation. Thanks for your interest.
